Before Brexit, trade between Northern Ireland and the UK was simple as they were considered wholly one entity. Consequently, rules that applied to the UK also applied to Northern Ireland. However, following Brexit, the UK government and the EU created new regulations specific to Northern Ireland trade. The government officially considers these temporary, but the latest update to Norther Ireland trade guidance was in July of 2021.

Suppose you have customers on a consumer level in Northern Ireland. In that case, there are no new requirements for the customer receiving goods. Likewise, if you are shipping items to a business, and the total value of the goods is under £135, the company in Northern Ireland also doesn’t need to accommodate any new requirements.

A few extra steps are required to ship goods under £135 to a business in Northern Ireland. Any excise goods that are already UK duty paid do not need to be declared to customers. What positions do we have available?

YDL is currently searching for Class 1, Class 2 and Van Drivers to join our fleet.

Van Driver

We’re searching for new van drivers with full UK driving licenses. We’re looking to provide multi-drop delivery services in localised areas for YDL customers, so those with experience in commercial collection and goods delivery are required. Our Van Drivers are offered competitive pay alongside the benefits listed above.

Class 2 Driver

We are looking for certified Class 2 Drivers to join the YDL fleet. We are looking for extensive knowledge and experience with UK transport law and multi-drop delivery services. Experience in driving curtain side vehicles, chiefly those at 18t/26t, Is required. Our Class 2 Drivers complete local collection and delivery routes for competitive pay and our suite of benefits.

Class 1 Driver

YDL is looking for Class 1 Drivers for night trunking, haulage and multi-drop services. You must be a current holder of a CPC Driver card and a Tachograph card, with an excellent driving record and intimate knowledge of road transport laws. As with the other positions, we offer a highly competitive pay range plus our full suite of benefits.
