Encephalitis International
“We’re here to offer advice about recovery or rehabilitation”
One person is diagnosed with encephalitis every minute, and life for them and their family will never be the same again...
We have been customers of the Yorkshire-based courier business for several years, consistently impressed by their professionalism, personability and speed of both delivery. However, it was only in 2014 that our partnership with YDL began when a member of their team attended an event where one of our fundraisers spoke about the work we do at the Encephalitis Society. YDL then reached out to graciously offer the Encephalitis Society free couriering throughout the UK.
Calum Goodwin – Corporate Partnership Manager
Since then, they have supported us every single business day by collecting and delivering our parcels, totally free of charge. Eight years on and our partnership with YDL has saved us £17,375.66 as of April 2022. As a result, we can use these savings elsewhere; ensuring we can provide direct support to those affected by encephalitis through our support services team, designing and printing our adult and children information guides and helping subsidise tickets for our Young Person’s Weekend. Taking our support line as an example, at an average cost to the society of £30 per call, YDL’s support has directly funded nearly 600 life-changing calls.
Visit York
“A vibrant festival city with Roman roots and a Viking past”
With more attractions per square mile than any other city in the UK, York is home to everything from museums, theatres and galleries to hidden gems and must-see attractions and iconic historic buildings…
We are excited to be partnering with Visit York in ‘Snooks, Yorks Character Trail’ in a fundraising event for St Leonard’s Hospice. Look out for a YDL Snook later this year.
YDL have provided FOC transport services for this local event, and will be delivering them throughout the City with care, and then collecting when the event closes.
